About Event

The 2nd International conference on “Sustainable Materials, Structures and IoT (SMSI-will be updated....)” is scheduled to be hosted by Department of Civil Engineering, IGIT Sarang. It focuses on both theory and practical applications in the broad areas of Engineering. SMSI is a multidisciplinary conference organized with the objective of bringing together academicians, scientists, researchers from industry, research scholars, and students working in all areas of Engineering. This conference will create awareness about the importance of basic research in different fields matching with the current trends. Also, the conference will provide the authors and listeners with opportunities for national and international collaboration and networking among universities and institutions from India and abroad for promoting research and developing technologies.



Venue

The Conference will be held at the campus of Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology, Sarang, Dhenkanal, Odisha-759146. The venue can be reached both by road and train. The nearest railway station is Talcher road. The venue is about 140Kms from the state capital Bhubaneswar.



About IGIT, Sarang

Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology (IGIT), Sarang was established in the year of 1982 and was managed directly by the Govt. of Odisha in the name of Odisha College of Engineering (OCE). Prior to this, since 1981, the institute in the name of Modern Polytechnic (MPT) was offering Diploma Courses in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, and Mining Engineering. In the year 1987, both OCE & MPT were merged and renamed as IGIT, Sarang and the management was transferred to an Autonomous Society. Presently, the Institute is offering nine Under Graduate Engineering courses in Civil, Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, Metallurgical, Electronics & Telecommunication, Computer Science Engineering, Production Engineering, Architecture; & two part-time Post Graduate Engineering courses in Industrial Power Control & Drives, Environmental Sc. & Engineering; nine full time Post Graduate Engineering courses / Master course Computer Sc. Engineering, Electronics and Telecom. Engineering, Geotech Engineering, Mechanical System Design, Mett. & Materials Engineering, Power Electronics & Drives, Power System Engineering, Production Engineering, Structural Engineering, Master in Computer Application; besides five Diploma Courses in Civil, Electrical, ETC, Mechanical and MME. The Institute is fully residential with an integrated campus covering 179 acres of land encompassing hostels, staff quarters and a sprawling playground (Dr. M. P. Mishra memorial stadium) with basketball, volleyball and badminton courts. The institute has central infrastructure facilities like Central Library (with 27,000 volumes of books and 50 current periodicals / journals subscribed every year), Central Computer Centre, Central Workshop, Knowledge Centre, 9 nos. of student hostels having accommodation facility for students and other amenities such as SBI (Core Bank facilities), Guest house , Hospital, Post Office, Canteen, Students and Employees Cooperative Consumer stores, NSS, NCC, different clubs, Within a span of three decades, the institute has grown up to the National level academically. The institute got NBA accredited up to 2024 because of its academic excellence.

Department of Civil Engineering

Civil Engineering, the oldest and the parent branch of the Engineering is as old as human Civilization that concerns itself with construction and maintenance of public utilities like buildings, roads, bridges, water supply system etc. The AICTE has approved 2 years regular P.G. programme in Transportation, Structural, Geotechnical Engineering and 2 years part time P.G. Course in Environmental Science and Engineering as a Continuing Education Programme for regular as well for the engineers employed in the different organization. This Department has been accredited recently by NBA.

Publication Ethics/Submission Details

  • Technical papers describing original, previously unpublished research, not currently under review by another conference or journal, are solicited.  
  • The peer review process will be double blind.
  • All papers must be submitted online via Microsoft CMT. Microsoft Link
  • Permissible level of Plagiarism is less than 10%. The evaluation is recommended to be based on technical soundness, language, scope, relevance, novelty, originality, quality etc.
  • Authors are advised to submit the paper(s) in PDF format without author’s names, affiliation and other information related to authors.Only papers presenting original content with novel research results or successful innovative applications will be considered for publication in the conference proceedings (as chapters in edited volumes of Taylor & Francis series (Approval under Processing...........)


    • Plagiarism Policy

    The paper prior to submission should be checked for plagiarism from licensed plagiarism software like Turnitin. The similarity index should be less than 10% in any case either self-content (max 2%). Further, you have to strictly implement the following ethical guidelines for publication:

    • Any form of self-plagiarism or plagiarism from others' work(s) should not be there in an article.
    • If any model / concept / figure / table / data / conclusive comment by any previously published work is used in your article, you should properly cite a reference to the original work.
